Valentine Rosettes

I know a lot of people will say that Valentine’s Day is a “Hallmark holiday” but honestly it’s one of my favorite times of the year!  There’s so many fun and easy DIY projects out there, not to mention a huge amount of yummy treats to make and decorate.  I found some great Valentine DIY projects over on Pinterest (of course!) and wanted to show you how the decorations are coming along so far. 

Valentine rosettes are actually super simple to make and once you have them all clustered together they make the perfect Valentine’s Day decor backdrop.  I found the idea from Jen of Tatertots & Jello, and there are step by step instructions over on Babble here.  I just used cupcake liners (mostly in pastel colors), scrapbook paper, coffee filters, and Valentine embellishments.  I love them!

Don’t you think these rosettes would even be cute as decor for a reception in your wedding colors?  I could even see them at a bridal shower.  Stay tuned for more Valentine’s decorations and DIY’s in the next few weeks!

Custom Bouquet Paintings by Sarah Park Designs

Who wants a painting of one of your favorite wedding details, the bouquet? You guys, I love this idea! I first saw this concept over on Wedding Chicks and wanted to share it with you! Sarah Park creates custom watercolor paintings of your wedding bouquet, forever preserving your flowers in a special way. I’m definitely bookmarking her Etsy site, Sarah Park Designs, for future reference! What a great gift this would be for a recently married friend or from a husband to wife.

Flower Friday

Hello friends, happy Friday!  It’s a long 4 day weekend for me : )

I’m drooling over this bouquet made by Janie Medley of The Bride’s Cafe.  This particular arrangement is so bright and colorful with some of my favorite florals – coral peonies, peach and white ranunculus, and geranium leaves.  Stunning!

Sweet Valentine’s Day Board

Guess what?  One of my favorite holidays is upon us … Valentine’s Day!  With just under a month left, I put together a little inspiration board of Sweet and Saucy’s cakes and sweet treats  featured on Style Me Pretty.  I’m pretty sure that I’ll be visiting the new Sweet and Saucy Shop soon, which opened up in Newport Beach last year (yay!).  All of Melody’s creations are so beautiful and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with this year.

Flower Friday: My Wedding Bouquet

Hi friends!  I wanted to share with you a beautiful picture my mom took of my bouquet the day after the wedding.  I loved it so much I’m having it preserved so I can look at it forever, can’t wait to show you all the finished product.  Until then, here’s my gorgeous bouquet of dark red roses and black cala lilies designed by Natalie Galasso Designs.

Happy New Year!

2013 is almost here, can you believe it?  What an amazing year 2012 turned out to be.  I’d have to say the highlight of my year would be marrying the man of my dreams just this last November.  I couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous and fun wedding!

There are many more great things to come in 2013, including my professional wedding photos!  I have access to them through an online gallery, but in the next few months I should be getting all the images on CD.  I hope you all have a great New Year and thank you for reading my little blog and for all your nice comments.  I put together this little gold New Years inspiration board in honor of 2013, it’s going to be a great one!
