Favorite Ring Shots

The ring!  Besides the dress and shoes, the ring is one of the most important wedding detail shots.  I collected some of my favorites to share with you all.

Dreamy Lake Como, Italy

Lake Como, Italy = one of the places I must see before I die!  Known as one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy, Lake Como’s spectacular views and calming aura make it one of the most sought after vacation spots in Europe.  And can’t you see why?!  What an amazing place for a wedding … a girl can dream right?  I’ll just live thru these gorgeous photos!

DIY Pinwheels!

Good evening and Happy Memorial Day weekend!  I got lucky with 4 days off … woo hoo!  So since I had the day off, I found myself making these adorable little do it yourself pinwheels that I found on The Wedding Chicks blog a few days ago.  They are super easy, fun, and can be used as decorations in weddings, bridal showers, parties, just about anything!  I’m thinking these would be cute at my bridal shower 🙂

Supplies you’ll need:

Sheets of 12″ x 12″ lightweight decorative paper
12″ wooden dowels
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Push pin
Scissors
Ruler

1. Begin by cutting 6″ inch squares out of your paper.

2. Lay your paper pattern side down, and use your ruler to draw diagonal lines from each corner to make an “X”.

3. Mark the center of your square by poking a hole through it with your pushpin.

4. From the center, mark 1 inch up, then cut along the diagonal lines from all 4 corners, stopping at the 1 inch mark you made.

5. Use your pushpin to make a hole in the right hand corner of each side of the square, just to the left of the line you just cut.

6. One by one bring each corner into the center and stick the pin through each one of the holes and set aside.

7. Make a hole, using your pushpin, 1/2 inch down from the top of the dowel.

8. Put a drop of hot glue on the hole, and insert the pin that goes through the pinwheel center into the glue and dowel.

And there you have it!  Isn’t that the cutest thing?!  I love it!

Here’s a few pics I took of the final project:

I love that paper!  Had to get a shot of the back 🙂

La Gartier Custom Garters

La Gartier is a custom wedding garter company based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in handmade garters to fit the brides personality and style.  Sarah Gordon, designer of these one-of-a-kind garters, began her business as a hobby and now services brides all across the US.  Here are some of my favorites from her collection.  They’re just so pretty!  Which one is your favorite?

You can also design your own garter with their hand picked fabrics, vintage jewelry, Swarovski crystal rhinestones, and unique little items such as hand sewn initials.  They also make for a sweet keepsake after the wedding.

Bridal Fair by the Sea, Dana Point

Bridal show in Orange County?!  I’m there!  Today I attended the Bridal Fair by the Sea at the Dana Point Sailing & Events Center.  It was great!  So many talented vendors, makeup/hair stylists, as well as yummy food was all available for the bride-to-be (me!) and guests.  The weather couldn’t have been better and I had a wonderful time with my girls!

Loved all the floral arrangements, my favorite!

Bouquets from McCool Flowers located right in Dana Point, beautiful!

These smelled delicious!

Loved this darling designed candy bar from Sweet Sensations Candy Stations.

This was kind of a different, cute idea.  Nature’s Beauty freeze-dries your wedding bouquets.  Pardon the glare 🙂

Turnip Rose – Possible Wedding Venue #1

When I worked at Hoag Hospital a few years ago, I would pass this place every day on my way to work.  Located right on the edge of Costa Mesa/Newport Beach, Turnip Rose is an unique wedding venue with beautiful stairways and Spanish inspired buildings.  Ryan and I have an appointment to check it out on May 29th to see what it’s all about!  Isn’t it pretty?  I’ll keep you posted with my thoughts!

I love the ballroom with the ceiling lights, they look like stars.
Front of the venue … I love the iron gates!  (The black with red is very similar to the look that I’ll be going for.)
What do you all think?  I’d love to hear your input!  I think it has potential.  Have a great rest of your week!
