Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day friends!  Any fun and exciting plans?  Ryan has been feeling under the weather lately, so we’re going to be postponing Valentine’s Day celebrations until he gets better.  Looks like I’ll be making tacos tonight, staying in, taking care of the hubs, and snuggling with little Soph… still not a bad night!

Here’s a shot from our engagement session last year in Laguna Beach.  I loved our sign from Brandy at Baybee Dahl Boutique, and it works out perfectly for today!

Conversation Hearts Valentine Decor

Did you remember that Valentine’s Day is tomorrow?  I did!  Last weekend I did some decorating, and played around with Brach’s conversation hearts, you know those little pastel candies that you received in elementary school from your friends?  I used my LOVE cake topper I bought from Lisa Leonard Designs and viola- a cute Valentine decor piece for your coffee table or counter.

Valentine Rosettes

I know a lot of people will say that Valentine’s Day is a “Hallmark holiday” but honestly it’s one of my favorite times of the year!  There’s so many fun and easy DIY projects out there, not to mention a huge amount of yummy treats to make and decorate.  I found some great Valentine DIY projects over on Pinterest (of course!) and wanted to show you how the decorations are coming along so far.

Valentine rosettes are actually super simple to make and once you have them all clustered together they make the perfect Valentine’s Day decor backdrop.  I found the idea from Jen of Tatertots & Jello, and there are step by step instructions over on Babble here.  I just used cupcake liners (mostly in pastel colors), scrapbook paper, coffee filters, and Valentine embellishments.  I love them!

Don’t you think these rosettes would even be cute as decor for a reception in your wedding colors?  I could even see them at a bridal shower.  Stay tuned for more Valentine’s decorations and DIY’s in the next few weeks!

Have a fabulous day!

Sweet Valentine’s Day Board

Guess what?  One of my favorite holidays is upon us … Valentine’s Day!  With just under a month left, I put together a little inspiration board of Sweet and Saucy’s cakes and sweet treats  featured on Style Me Pretty.  I’m pretty sure that I’ll be visiting the new Sweet and Saucy Shop soon, which opened up in Newport Beach last year (yay!).  All of Melody’s creations are so beautiful and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with this year.

Valentine’s Day Decor

So I’m well aware that Valentine’s Day is over BUT I had to share with you all some of the pictures from my Valentine’s Party.

I used the cutest Love Sweet Love printables from The Sweetest Occasion.  Love the cupcake toppers and Love Sweet Love sign 🙂

I also printed out a little heart banner and straw flags from The Sweetest Occasion.

The Sweetest Occasion

I added a little glitter to mine and used red baker’s twine to tie up the hearts.

Love these!

And last but not least, my little Valentine’s tree with the cutest heart ornaments from JoyAnna.

Time to put away the Valentine’s Day decor and get ready for Easter!

Kris

Valentine Burlap Banner

Is everyone almost ready for Valentine’s Day?  I love all the decorating and DIY projects this time of year.  One fun element I’m loving is Valentine banners and boy do I have a cute one for you!  In fact, this banner is the one I bought for our engagement session/wedding day decor.  The pictures don’t even do it justice, it’s the cutest thing ever!  Brandy from baybeedahlboutique makes the burlap banners, and you can check out her shop here.  There’s all kinds of different designs she sells, all of them unique and oh so cute 🙂
