Homemade Body Scrub for my Bridesmaids!

For my bridal shower, I wanted to make a little something special for all my bridesmaids.  So, with the help of Cyd from The Sweetest Occasion and Rhiannon from Hey Gorgeous Events, I was able to create a pretty and unique little favor for the girls to take home and enjoy.  I made Lemon Sugar Body Scrub from Cyd’s recipe; it was so simple to make and smells yummy too!

Here’s the ingredients you will need:

1. 3 cups of sugar
2. 3/4 cup of olive oil
3. Juice from one lemon
4. Zest from two lemons
5. 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
6. Jars (I used these from Hobby Lobby)
7. Pretty ribbon

Place the sugar into a mixing bowl, then add the oil and vanilla.  Mix!  Next, I zested two lemons and squeezed the juice of one lemon into the bowl.  Mix again and there you go, lemon sugar scrub!  It’s ready for the jars …

It’s a great gift to give and I’m pretty sure the girls loved them 🙂

Rhiannon from Hey Gorg also has a great body scrub recipe I want to try out next time. These scrubs really make great little presents, any gal would love to receive them!

Ribbon Decor

Purple Inspiration Board

Montage, Laguna Beach

Hello all!  I meant to post this one yesterday but time got away from me! 

On Monday I went with some friends to the beautiful Montage Resort in Laguna Beach and what a fun day!  We started off at Mosaic Bar & Grille overlooking the ocean and Montage’s herb garden (so cute!), then made our way down to the beach for a mini photo shoot.

Will You Be My Groomsman and Best Man Cards from Wedding Chicks

Good afternoon!  Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Day and is enjoying 2012 so far.

The Wedding Chicks blog is probably one of my favorite wedding sites to visit, and that’s exactly where I found the inspiration for my project today – Groomsman and Best Man downloadable cards 🙂  Sometimes it seems like the guys get left out when it comes to all the wedding stuff, but the ladies over at Wedding Chicks made sure to include the boys on this one!

I loved the bridesmaid cards I sent out back in September, and now it’s time for the groomsman cards.  Ryan has already asked most of the guys, but this makes it a bit more official 😉

I printed the cards out on white card stock paper and then jazzed them up a bit with a black card stock paper border.  I love the way they came out, thank you Amy & Jocey for the great ideas!

A Twilight Inspired Wedding Photo Shoot

Breaking Dawn came out this past weekend, and yep you’re right, I saw it.  Ummm hellooo, I’ve been waiting for the wedding to come out on the big screen for a long time now and it was beautiful!  I came across this Twilight inspired wedding photo shoot on The Wedding Chicks blog, and although it’s not exactly like the actual wedding in the book and movie, it has those Twiligh-esque elements, not to mention my wedding colors!  Love the bouquet, that cake stand (which I have in black), and the gorgeous deep, red colors.
