Peony Love

Hi friends! Long time no see! I just wanted to share with you some shots I took of the beautiful peonies I picked up at Trader Joe’s this past weekend. Peonies are hard to come by here in Orange County, CA; they are usually only available for the month of May into the beginning of June.

I think I need to make one more trip into Trader Joe’s and pick up some of these pretties before they’re gone for the year.

We’re Featured!

Hello!  Remember me?  I know it’s been super quiet around these parts lately but guess what?  Our wedding pictures were featured on the popular wedding blog, Wedding Wire!  It is a site dedicated to helping engaged couples and future brides plan the wedding of their dreams.  Design wedding websites, plan budget layouts and seating charts, read and write vendor reviews, and create guest lists and inspiration boards- this website has it all!  In fact, I used Wedding Wire for our own wedding website.  After our wedding and honeymoon, I went into my account and was able to write reviews for all the vendors that we used.

You can check out the full feature here, and maybe leave some love?

Thanks again to Caitlin and Wedding Wire for the feature!

Have a fabulous day, friends!

Floral Reception Decor

Hi guys, it’s me!  It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you all, sorry for the quietness here lately.  As usual, things have been busy!

One of my favorite details of our wedding would have to be our reception decor.  Flowers were a super important detail to me in our wedding and our floral designer Natalie blew me away with the set up.  We decided to go with two different table centerpiece looks – 8 tables with red roses, peonies, and dahlias in a black square vase and 8 tables of white hydrangea in black vases as well as tall pillars with floating candles.  The end result was so elegant and romantic!  We also added groupings of red and white votives to each table to include more candlelight.

Here’s a look at one of our centerpieces:

Our second centerpiece:

And there you have it, how gorgeous was the set up?  Ryan and I were so impressed, it was beautiful!  As far as table centerpieces go, don’t be afraid to mix it up a little bit!

Have a fabulous day!

Our Sweetheart Table

Hi friends!  Let’s get back into our wedding details because I know you all are dying to see our photos 😉

I knew that I wanted a separate table for Ryan and myself during the wedding with our bridal party scattered throughout our guests.  That way everyone could sit with someone they knew and have a great time at the reception.  Our sweetheart table decor was composed of black vases filled with red roses, peonies, and white hydrangea along with a handful of votives that provided delicate candlelight.  The black striped table cloths were a nice addition to the overall look.

I love sparklers and had to have some for NYE 🙂

DIY Christmas Wreath

Good morning friends!  Christmas is quickly approaching and I’ve been trying to finish up all my decorating.  I made a Christmas bulb wreath that came out super cute and wanted to share it with you today.  I found the project from Doranda on Watch Out for the Woestmans.  My Christmas theme this year is silver and gold.  The wreath was easy to make and I found all the items at Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree – styrofoam wreath (14″), Christmas bulbs in the colors of your choice, a hot glue gun, and ribbon.

I had never been to the Dollar Tree store before and their ornaments were perfect for this project!  I added a few more ornaments since this picture was taken to fill the wreath up a little bit.  Stay tuned for pictures of my Christmas tree, love it!

Our Wedding Ceremony Chalkboard

Hello friends!  Sorry it’s been a bit quiet on the blog lately.  I don’t want to make excuses but my adorable 2 month old (almost 3!) nephew is in town from the east coast and I’ve been trying to hang with him.  Also, I’ve started up piano lessons again!  It’s been fun!  But let’s get back to the wedding stuff…

I’ve talked about chalkboard details in weddings before and how much I love them.  I wanted to do a wedding chalkboard for our ceremony instead of the paper ones that you see at most weddings.  I found my inspiration from this wedding:

Pretty, right?  Our ceremony sign was designed by our wedding planner, Liz from Eventfully Beautiful.

Loved the way it turned out and it saved a lot of paper!  There are alternatives out there instead of using paper programs 🙂

Have a fabulous day!
