Hi friends! Today I wanted to share with you a little DIY I made for my bridal shower favors, cookies in a jar! These goodies are fairly quick to assemble and make the cutest gift or favor for any gathering. Here are the items you will need:
- Jars – I used these 32 oz mason jars from Hobby Lobby which worked out perfectly!
- All-purpose flour
- Baking soda
- White sugar
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Brown sugar
- Pretty ribbon of your choice
- Stock paper in the color of your choice to print out the directions to make the cookies.
There’s a few cookie in a jar recipes out there, I used Julia’s Best Ever Chocolate Cookies via allrecipes.com.
Directions: Mix the flour, baking soda, white sugar and chocolate chips. Put 1/2 of the mixture into the jar, and pack down. Place the 1/2 cup of brown sugar in next, making sure to firmly pack. Then place the remaining mixture on top and seal with a lid.
I printed out the directions on stock paper and attached them through the ribbon. They read as follows: Empty contents of jar into a large bowl. In separate bowl combine 3/4 cup of butter, 1 1/2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add to dry mixture. Drop by tablespoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and bake in a preheated 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
Finished product! They were a huge hit, and I also heard the cookies were delicious!
Have a fabulous day!

Kris
